Google is reportedly developing a new search engine that is powered by AI and is intended to provide a more personalized search experience for users. The new search engine is still in the early stages of development, but it is expected to offer users lists of preselected options and anticipate their needs. Meanwhile, Google is also working on Project Magi, which involves adding new AI-based features to the existing Google Search. Project Magi aims to help searchers complete transactions, such as buying shoes or booking flights, while still incorporating Google search ads. Magi may be released as early as next month to a subset of users.
The New York Times reported that the new search engine would attempt to anticipate users' needs, and offer a far more personalized experience than the company's current service.
Google has put a team of designers, engineers and executives in charge of building out this new search engine. The report says that the new search engine from the internet giant could put new A.I. technology in phones and homes all over the world.
The new search engine is still in its early stages and there is no timetable for its release. This new effort shows that the search experience is going to be reinvented.
The new search engine would learn what users want to know by analiing their searches. It would offer lists of preselected options for objects to buy, information to research and other information. Being more personable, like talking to a person. Earlier reports have Google talking about big changes coming to Google Search.
In 2009, when it tried to personalize search results, it actually said all results were personalized for all users, but years later stated that it offered little benefit to the searchers.
Search personalization was limited and pulled back in a big way, outside of the immediate previous query and some localization based on the user's location. That may have been a privacy play, but here we are in a world where Microsoft Bing and other players are gaining market share.
Project Magi. A team of more than 160 people are working full-time on adding new features to the existing search engine while the company works on an all-new search engine. The project is being code-named Magi and may be released as early as next month to a subset of users.
Magi would allow people to complete transactions, such as buying shoes or booking flights. This would allow people to complete financial transactions, while still incorporating the existing search ads.
Searchers can answer questions about software coding and write code based on a user's request. According to a document, an ad may be placed under the computer code answers.
Other projects of the internet company, called "Other Google projects." Other efforts are also being worked on by the company.
The mapping technology is powered by the artificial intelligence and the search for music is done through a conversation with a chatbot.
The images would be generated by the machine.
Users would be taught a new language through text conversations.
Users would be able to ask a chatbot questions while surfing the web.
A new A.I.-powered features to search will be announced soon, according to a New York Times story.
